Andreas Heller, architect, founder of Studio Andreas Heller GmbH, Hamburg, started his career as a set designer and film architect. In the mid-1980s he began designing exhibition presentations and museum facilities for numerous institutions in Germany. In 1989 he founded Studio Andreas Heller GmbH, a planning office for cultural, leisure, and educational institutions, with an interdisciplinary staff. Among their most important cultural projects are: the Buddenbrookhaus, the Deutsches Auswandererhaus Bremerhaven (one of the "European Museums of the Year," 2007), the Wasserkunst Elbinsel Kaltehofe, and the Wälderhaus. Heller is currently busy planning the Europäisches Hansemuseum, Lübeck.
